LORD.Fix this textAs a tribute'to the memory ot thelate Mr. Clive Lord, a swing has beenerected at the Botanical Gardens. Theopening ceremony was performed onSaturday by Mr. W. H. Clemes, chair-man ol the Botanical Gardens Trustees,lin the presence of, a representativegathering. ,Mr. Clemes expressed appreciation ofthe action of the staff of the gardens inerecting the swing, stating that Mr.Lord was keen that a swing should boerected at the Gardens, and had men-tioned the matter at the last meeting ofthe trustees ho attended.Dr. W. L. Crowther paid a tributeto the work of tho late Mr. Lord in theI Interests of the Gardens, and said that hehad always taken an interest in theyoung life of the city.Messrs. S. Angel and A. Sargison alsospoke.The Hrst girl to use the swing waaJoan Shrimplin, the 4-year-old grand-daughter of Mr. P.
