  Ata meeting of the Hokitika Municipal Band last evening opportunity was taken tomake a small presentation to Mr V. Sargison,who is shortly leaving tor the North Island. Mr C. Ross, conductor, expressedthe regret of the Band at the loss of .so reliable a member, and wished Mr Sargison the best of good luck wherever hehappened to make his new home. Ho then asked the secretary to present thodeparting member with a handsome and serviceable Gladstone bug ■is a token ofthe esteem and respect of the bandsmen. Other members expressed their regret atthe loss which the Band was sustaining, but hoped that their young friend wouldhave a prosperous time in wider fields. Mr Sargisonreplied thanking the Band for the good wishes expressed and for the gift, whichho would treasure as'one ot his most valued possessions, and concluded bywishing the. Band every success.
